Your website visitors will make up their mind about you and your company within 30 seconds or less.

With this in mind, would you prefer them to have a great first impression?

That’s what I thought. When you’re designing a brand new website, what appears online directly affects the image of your company.

Why a “Coming Soon” page?

You’ve purchased the domain name of your dreams, you’ve chosen a professional web designer to help you create a strong foundation so your website can serve you and your company well on the long term.

Now is the time to setup a great “Coming soon” page.

Creating a new website can take a certain amount of time depending on your specific needs, so giving the opportunity to visitors to know who you are, what you do and what’s coming is very important.

Please avoid the standard, boring “coming soon” page supplied by most hosting companies. It doesn’t serve you well at all as the entire world has seen it millions of times, not an ounce of uniqueness here…

Unfortunately, numerous  entrepreneurs think they’re saving money by designing their own website and end up installing WordPress without a “coming soon” page. This usually results in visitors seeing the standard “Hello World” post, “This is a comment” and a sample page WordPress offers when setting up a new installation.

This affects the image of your company negatively and really shows poor commitment to investing in a professional solution for your online marketing strategy. Whether you are the best in your industry, this has already provided a negative first impression to online visitors. The worst is that search engines are already indexing this negative image and will soon be all over the internet, something that takes time and effort to change…

Suggestions

Instead, leverage this opportunity to create a buzz for your company, product or service. A talented graphic designer can help you setup a fantastic infographic to entice people to want to know more about you.

You could use a video for “teasing” purposes before the launch of a new product or service, funky social media buttons to attract visitors towards your platforms where you can build up the “hype”.

You can make it even more simple and intriguing by displaying only an image or graphic item that triggers interest from your visitors.

The main point here is to start creating a “vibe” for your company, product or service, helping your visitors to learn more about you before you lift the curtain.
